Information about the UK’s right to work regulation

Starting September 24, 2026, anyone residing in Ireland or the UK who signs up to provide pet care services on Rover must prove their right to work in the UK prior to accepting any bookings. This is to comply with UK regulations, which you can learn more about here.

What does this mean for Rover?

During the sign-up process, you’ll be asked to prove your right to work in the UK.

For UK and Irish citizens: You’ll be prompted to complete identity verification with your passport. This will automatically confirm your citizenship. If you don’t have a passport, you won’t be able to provide services on Rover at this time. We evaluate our signup requirements for pet care providers on a frequent basis, so requirements may change in the future.

Non-citizens: You will be asked to add your right to work share code during the sign up process, in addition to your identity documentation details. If you do not have a share code, contact Rover Support directly—we are happy to help.

Note: certain right to work authorizations are time-limited and will expire. If your right to work is time limited, you will be required to update this right to work code prior to the expiration date. A failure to do so will result in deactivation of your account.
